One might say that my reputation precedes me.  One might also more technically say that my reputation follows me close behind.

When Mom's new automatic composter started bellowing with long groans and creaks, I commented to Jadon from the other room, "Man it sounds the stomach of hungry giant or something, huh?"

Jadon replied, "I thought it was you... I'd never heard it THAT bad."

Suicide prevention by cliffhanger

After a particularly dramatic "cliffhanger ending" to the night's installment of a book we're reading (The Narrow Road by Brother Andrew), Jadon said, "That's what they should do in psychiatric hospitals with suicidal people. Get some kindhearted person to read a [riveting] story to the suicidal people, then stop at a cliffhanger so they will stop wanting to kill themselves in order to be able to hear the rest of the story."

What a Funny Song-ay!

A few weeks ago it somehow came across Jadon's mind to dig up a catchy tune he had heard many months ago that was apparently created decades ago as Chinese Communist propaganda in support of ruthless dictator Mao Tse Dong.  Perhaps as Jadon's comic relief during the grueling hours preparing the upcoming performance at Walt Disney Concert Hall tonight, he even became able to recite the song in Chinese as he played it on piano nearly from memory. Perhaps somewhat sacrilegious, he even played it at church on occasion to which his young friend Christian would sing along!

Today I saw something I can ever remember seeing before: Evangelina kissed Jadon on the cheek while he was showing her how to play something at the piano for her Certificate of Merit test. The kiss made me quite happy, perhaps because my sister and I grew up hugging and kissing each other on the cheek (until Ruthie hit puberty I guess). Very sweet seeing siblings care for each other.
