Jadon woke up (as he does with some frequency) to go pee, & he stopped by the kitchen area and asked Mommy, "Where's Dad?"
Realizing he must not have seen me, I got up from my seat in the family room & asked him, "How can I help you?" Bleary-eyed & rubbing his nose, he said, "Can I have a hug?"
I said, "Of course" & followed him to his room, & hugged him before he got back into his bed. As I hugged him, I asked, "Will you let us hug you when you grow up and become a daddy?"
He answered, "Sure." I clarified my question while he was settling into bed: "You'll let us hug you when you're big & have kids of your own?"
His eyes suddenly brightened & he quickly nodded his head as he whispered excitedly, "Yeah, I hope I have kids. You'll like being a grandpa."
